Intelligent Vision Sensor (IVS) is an image sensor, which realizes a part of sophisticated image processing features of the vertebrate retina by means of electronics hardware.IVS module is consisted of a Silicon Retina LSI and a FPGA,which furnishes USB or LAN interface. This module would be contained in a cigarette pack size box to show the functions of prototype, and then provided to customers as an ODM Product
IVS possesses not only a function of image pickup devices such as CCD/ CMOS imager which simply convert picture image into electrical signals but also image preprocessing functions.
Silicon Retina is embedded with both functions to recognize a shape and movement which are very important for a vertebrate animal to see, so that IVS is easily able to detect the edge of a static image, and concurrently extract the contour of a moving object and the direction of it’s movement in front of complicated background under normal lighting environment in real time.
